Hudson native reaches NCAAs

Furman (S.C.) University sophomore Ryan Adams, a Hudson native and a Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (Stow) graduate, qualified for the NCAA Championships after his performance at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships East Preliminaries May 27 at the University of Kentucky.

Adams, a Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (Stow) graduate, finished seventh in the quarterfinals with a time of 3 minutes, 47.32 seconds in the 1,500-meter race to advance to the semifinals, which are scheduled to take place June 7 in Eugene, Ore.

Adams placed 10th in the first round with a time of 3:50.37 May 25. Adams entered the event ranked 15th in the East with a top time of 3:42.9 this season.

The Paladin record holder with a time of 3:42.25, Adams notched his qualifying time at the Raleigh (N.C.) Relays in March.
