It's always a good idea to have your best performance in do-or-die situations.
Such was the case for the Hudson boys volleyball team May 23.
The Explorers advanced to the Ohio High School Boys Volleyball Association Division I North No. 1 Region title match after earning a 17-25, 25-14, 25-22, 25-22 victory over Brecksville-Broadview Heights.
The match took place May 23 at Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls.
With the win, Hudson (9-11) was scheduled to play Cleveland St. Ignatius May 27 at Walsh. Results were not available at press time.
Larry Meehan had a strong all-around performance with 11 assists, eight digs, six kills, two blocks, two aces and just one error.
Shane Chilcott finished with eight blocks, six kills, two aces, two digs and just one error and Thomas Morgan had a 2.66 passer rating in more than 60 attempts, one ace and a season-high 13 digs.
Also faring well for Hudson were Kyle Michl (12 assists and nine digs), Kellen McCabe (five digs, one ace, one assist and a 2.53 passer rating), Aidan L'Hommedieu (five digs and a 2.58 passer rating), Jan Dolkowski (five kills, three blocks and three digs), Mitch Gray (five kills and five blocks) and Matt Gentry (nine kills, three aces, three blocks and two digs).
