Boys lacrosse squad routs Kent Roosevelt

The Hudson boys lacrosse team concluded its regular season with a convincing 15-5 victory over Kent Roosevelt May 12 on the road.

The Explorers (12-5) were up 6-2 at halftime.

Cole Miller and Matt Restifo each had had three goals for Hudson and Max Cole had one goal and three assists. Restifo also had an assist.

Anthony Rightnour contributed two goals and one assist and Blake Lori had two goals for the Explorers.

Joe Graf and Merrick Widdoes each had one goal and one assist and Nick Advent and Adam Dunne scored one goal apiece for Hudson.

Angelo Donatelli added two assists and Patrick Burdett had one assist for the Explorers.

Hudson goalies Stroud Corr and Matt Withem had three and six saves, respectively, in the cage.

The Explorers outshot the Rough Riders (5-11) 57-27 and had a 46-23 advantage in ground balls.

Hudson won 18-of-23 face-offs and killed all six of Kent's extra-man opportunities.

Chandler Kotseos and Alex Beegle earned game balls for their efforts.

The Explorers junior varsity team finished 13-2-1 after posting a lopsided 18-2 win.

Second-seeded Hudson is scheduled to host Painesville Riverside in the second round of the Region 2 tournament May 18 at Hudson Memorial Stadium. Play is set to begin at 6 p.m.
