High jumper places second at Suburban

The Hudson girls track and field team was in fifth place with 13 points in the National Conference after the first day of the Suburban League Championships May 9 at Nordonia High School's Boliantz Stadium in Macedonia.

Brynn Meyer finished second in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 2 inches to lead the Lady Explorers.

The 3,200-meter relay team of Kalli Barrett, Grace Turner, Hannah Teed and Emily Akin placed fourth with a time of 9 minutes, 51.07 seconds.

Qualifying for finals were Jenna Reitenbach in the 100, Brynn Strawbridge and Ang Giaimo in the 200, Akin and Amy Morris in the 400, Tori Shriver in the 100 hurdles and Leah Hartman in the 300 hurdles.

The Suburban League Championships were scheduled to conclude May 11 at Boliantz Stadium. Results were not available at press time.

Hudson is set to to compete at a Division I district meet May and 17 and 19 at Boliantz Stadium. The competition is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. both days.
