The Hudson girls track and field team was in fifth place with 13 points in the National Conference after the first day of the Suburban League Championships May 9 at Nordonia High School's Boliantz Stadium in Macedonia.
Brynn Meyer finished second in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 2 inches.
The 3,200-meter relay team of Kalli Barrett, Grace Turner, Hannah Teed and Emily Akin placed fourth with a time of 9 minutes, 51.07 seconds.
Qualifying for finals were Jenna Reitenbach in the 100, Brynn Strawbridge and Ang Giaimo in the 200, Akin and Amy Morris in the 400, Tori Shriver in the 100 hurdles and Leah Hartman in the 300 hurdles.
The Hudson boys were in sixth place with 18 points.
The 3,200 relay team of Blake Roberts, Dawson Wervey, Adam Beucler and Lucas Lay finished second with a time of 8:09.68.
Also taking second was Greg Mailey in the long jump (20 feet, 5.5 inches).
Nathan Kravitz finished seventh in the pole vault with a vault of 12 feet.
Qualifying for finals were Maxwell Doyle in the 100, Dawson Wervey in the 400, Hunter Norman in the 300 hurdles and Mailey in the long jump.
The Suburban League Championships are scheduled to conclude May 11 at Boliantz Stadium.
