Hudson baseball beats Brunswick

The host Hudson baseball team earned a 4-1 victory over Brunswick May 8 at The Ballpark at Hudson.
The Explorers trailed 1-0 after the top of the first inning. But Hudson took the lead for good with three runs in the third.
Hudson added a run in the fifth. The Explorers (17-4) had seven hits and one error. The Blue Devils, the top seed in the Barberton Division I district, had five hits and four errors.
Right-hander Johnny Colesi picked up the win on the mound to improve to 4-0. He finished with two strikeouts and three walks in four innings of work.
Right-hander Johnny Merrill pitched a scoreless seventh to pick up his third save of the season.
Spencer McClure led Hudson with two hits and a run scored and Nolan Laughlin had two hits for the Explorers.
Merrill had a single and a run batted in and Nolan O'Connell had a single and a run scored for Hudson.
