The Hudson boys lacrosse team got back on the winning track May 3.
The Explorers, who had lost two of their last three matches, improved to 10-4 on the season after posting a 14-11 victory over Chagrin Falls May 2 on the road.
Hudson had a 3-0 lead after one quarter of play and was up up 10-6 at halftime.
"We were able to get the offense back on track," Explorers head coach David Blue said. "We made a significant improvement in the face-off category."
Anthony Rightnour led Hudson with four goals and two assists and Max Cole had two goals and four assists.
Merrick Widdoes scored three times for the Explorers and Jack Burdett had two goals.
Cole Miller had a goal and two assists and Angelo Donatelli had a goal and an assist for Hudson.
Donatelli also won 10 of 18 face-offs to earn the game ball. Matt Restifo added a goal for the Explorers.
Hudson goalie Stroud Corr made seven saves in the cage and Matt Withem had one save.
"The roller coaster continued to play havoc with the defense," Blue said. "We had a second-period breakdown to allow them [the Tigers] back into the game. We tightened up at halftime and were able to control the rest of the game."
Chagrin Falls had a 41-32 advantage in shots, but the Explorers had a 33-26 edge in ground balls. The Tigers won 14 of 27 face-offs.
Hudson's junior varsity team earned a 7-7 draw. As of press time, the JV squad's record was 10-2-1.
The varsity team was scheduled to host North Canton Hoover May 5 at Hudson Memorial Stadium. Results were not available at press time.
The Explorers are set to visit Kent Roosevelt in their regular-season finale May 12 at 7 p.m.
