The Western Reserve Academy girls track and field team placed fifth with 45 points at the 10-team Cuyahoga Heights Relays April 29.
Independence won the competition with 65 points and Middlefield Cardinal took second with 61 points. Rounding out the top four were Zane Trace (56) and Kirtland (46).
Two Pioneer relays won.
The high-jump trio of Micayla Brent, Madison Coleman and Alicia Ma had a combined first-place total of 13 feet, 6 inches.
Also reaching victory lane for Reserve was the shuttle hurdle team of Amy Zhou, Brent, Libby Russ and Ma. They posted a time of 1 minute, 14.65 seconds.

400: Ma, Marcella Bangkong, Christine Chan and Zhou, third, 55.65

Shot put: Coleman, Nita Reddy and Abigail Richardson, fifth, 71-8.5
Discus: Coleman and Reddy, fifth, 170-10
800: Zhou, Bangkong, Chan and Ma, fifth, 2:00.58
Distance medley: Fu, Wema Wachira, Brent and Downing, fifth, 10:53.51
Long jump: Brent, Meimei Tannehill and Juliana Xie, sixth, 35-11.5
The Pioneers were scheduled to visit Shaker Heights Laurel May 2 at the Laurel Butler Campus. Results were not available at press time.
Reserve is set to compete at the Pirate Relays May 5 at Perkins High School in Sandusky. The relays are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
