Hudson Rugby Club girls compete at Midwest Championships

The Hudson Rugby Club girls team competed at the Midwest Championships April 29 and 30 in Elkhart, Ind.
Hudson lost to defending Indiana state champion Warsaw 39-10. Samira Colbert and Clara Lemal-Brown each had tries for Hudson.
Hudson also lost to defending Michigan state champion Grandville 44-5. Lemal-Brown had Hudson's lone try.
Hudson suffered a 22-19 defeat to Oak Creek (Wisc.). Lemal-Brown, Colbert and Samone Portis each had a try and Amy O'Connor had two conversions.
Miranda Basta, Maia Breeden, Colbert, Gillian Deroche, Eva Johnson, Lemal-Brown and Bailey Regan received invitations to the Celtic Elite Ohio Select varsity side.
Allison Hess, Emma Janotka, Olivia Janotka and Reece Regan were selected to the junior varsity side.
They are scheduled to play in two regional cup tournaments June 10 in Elkhart and June 23 to 25 in Indianapolis.
Hudson (3-4) is scheduled to play Highland May 7 at Granger Elementary School in Medina. Play is set to begin at 1 p.m.
