The host Western Reserve Academy softball team improved to 3-2 after posting a 14-3 victory over Akron Garfield April 22.
The game was called after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.
The Pioneers broke it open with seven runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 12-3 lead.
Reserve finished with 13 hits and no errors. Garfield had seven hits and no errors.
Kianti Ruffin led WRA with three hits, including two triples, and five runs batted in. Megan Hovan had two hits, including a triple and two runs batted in, and Morgan Waldeck and Laura Eldon each had two hits for the Pioneers.
Makena Hayes drove in two runs for Reserve.
Tori Kramer got the win the pitcher's circle for WRA. She struck out eight batters in five innings of work.
The Pioneers lost to Gilmour Academy 15-5 April 20 in Gates Mills.
Reserve was scheduled to visit Shaker Heights Laurel April 24 at the Laurel School Butler Campus in Russell.
WRA was set to host Beachwood Fuchs Mizrachi April 25. Results of those games were not available at press time.
The Pioneers are set to compete at the Our Lady of the Elms Tournament April 28 and 29.
Reserve is scheduled to play Our Lady of the Elms April 28 at 4 p.m. and Laurel April 29 at 9 a.m.
