Fortunately, the Explorers look like they've completely recovered.
The host Hudson boys lacrosse team improved to 8-2 in 2017 after posting a 10-4 victory over Westlake April 18 at Hudson Memorial Stadium.
Anthony Rightnour and Chandler Kotseos each had two goals and one assist and Max Cole had one goal and two assists for the Explorers, who had a 7-2 lead at halftime.
Max Charlton had one goal and one assist and Joe Graf, Blake Lori, Merrick Widdoes and Cole Miller each scored once for Hudson.
Danny Saxon and Adam Dunne each had an assist for the Explorers. Saxon also scooped up a team-high five ground balls.
Hudson goalies Stroud Corr and Matt Withem made three and six saves, respectively, in the cage.
The Explorers outshot the Demons (3-3) 37-25 and had a 45-25 advantage in ground balls.
Hudson won 11 of 17 face-offs and its man-down defense held Westlake to just one goal in six opportunities.
"Our defense was smothering at times on the Demon attackers," Explorers head coach David Blue said. "Matt Rudy had a solid game with three ground balls and four takeaways."
Hudson's junior varsity team improved to 9-0 with a lopsided 17-0 win.
The Explorers were scheduled to visit Dublin Coffman April 21 at Rocks Stadium. Results were not available at press time.
Hudson is set to entertain Cleveland St. Ignatius April 25 at 7 p.m.
