The Hudson girls track and field team earned its third dual-meet win in a row after defeating the Lady Bulldogs by the score of 81-56 to improve to 3-1 overall and 3-1 in the Suburban League National Conference.
Senior Macy Lori led the way for the Lady Explorers against the Lady Bulldogs. Not only did she finish first in the pole vault, but she also set a new school record in the event with a height of 10 feet, 4 inches. Lori broke her own school record of 10 feet that she set last season.
In addition, freshman Jocelyn Weaver captured first place in the discus with a heave of 103-2.
Hudson tied for first place in the high jump.
Those two Lady Explorers were junior Brynn Meyer and freshman Molly Stecker, who both recorded a height of 5-2.
Four different Hudson athletes claimed first place in an individual event. Those four were junior Emily Akin in the 400-meter race (1 minute, 1 seconds), freshman Leah Hartman in the 300 hurdles (49.15), junior Kalli Barret in the 800 (2:25) and junior Cameron Bujaucius in the 1,600 (5:32).
The Lady Explorers swept all four relay races, as well, starting with the 400 with a time of 51.49. The members of that unit were senior Natalie Schwarz, junior Abby Petty, freshman Lauren Heidler and junior Jenna Reitenbach.
Hudson’s 800 relay squad also crossed the finish line in first place, posting an effort of 1:53 in the process. That contingent consisted of junior Andrea Giaimo, senior Amy Morris, junior Bryn Strawbridge and Heidler.
The Lady Explorers also won the 1,600 relay with a time of 4:17. Among the members of that unit were Akin, junior Ashley Gorze, Strawbridge and Morris.
Finally, Hudson was victorious in the 3,200 relay in 9:57. That team featured junior Grace Turner, junior Hannah Teed, Barret and Akin.
