Hudson girls lacrosse picks up first win over Magnificat, 15-6

After a rough first game, the Hudson girls lacrosse put it all together in game No. 2.

The Lady Explorers improved to 1-1 on the season after posting a convincing 15-6 victory over Rocky River Magnificat at Lost Nation Sports Park West April 11 in Lorain.

Hudson, which lost 16-4 to Everest (Ontario, Canada) Academy in its season opener, had a 30-12 advantage in shots and a 22-6 edge in ground balls.

Elizabeth Hinkle led the Lady Explorers with five goals and three assists and Corinne Hunt had three goals and two assists.

Maddie Valko also had three goals for Hudson. Ari Bankovich added one goal and one assist and Mia Becker, Sarah Hinkle and Sarah Keller each had one goal for the Lady Explorers.

Natalie Heitercamp led Magnificat with three goals.

Hudson goalie Addie Gojdics made seven saves in the cage.

The Lady Explorers were scheduled to host Massillon Jackson April 13 and Bath Township Revere April 15 at Hudson Memorial Stadium. Results of those matches were not available at press time.

Hudson is set to visit Green April 18 in Uniontown. Play is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
