Hudson grad wins pair of tennis matches for BW

Hudson graduate Dominic Polifrone, a sophomore on the Baldwin Wallace (Berea) University men's tennis team, picked up a pair of victories during the Yellow Jackets' 9-0 win over Nebraska Wesleyan University March at Hilton Head Island Beach and Tennis Resort in Hilton Head, S.C.

Polifrone and his partner Matt Harris cruised to an 8-0 victory at first doubles. Polifrone also posted a 6-1, 6-1 win at first singles.

Polifrone added two more victories during the Yellow Jackets' 9-0 win over Roanoke (Va.) College March 6 at the Palmetto Dunes Tennis & Pickleball Center in Hilton Head.

Polifrone and Harris earned an 8-6 victory at first doubles. Polifrone also cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles.

Polifrone recently was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time in his career.

Polifrone recently finished undefeated in singles' play and dropped only one game in 10 sets during the Yellow Jackets' trip to Hilton Head, S.C.

He finished 5-0 in singles' play and won four of five doubles' matches. Polifrone had a 15-3 record in singles' play and a 14-4 record in doubles' play.

In two seasons, Polifrone has a compiled a singles record of 39-7 and a doubles record of 38-12.

Last season, Polifrone was an All-OAC honorable-mention pick and was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Scholar Athlete.
