Boys lacrosse moves to 2-0

The Hudson boys lacrosse team improved to 2-0 with a lopsided 17-5 victory over Medina March 22 at Kenneth Dukes Stadium.

Anthony Rightnour led the Explorers with five goals and an assist to earn the game ball and Patrick Burdett had three goals.

Max Cole had one goal and three assists and Chandler Kotseos, Cole Miller and Anthony Donatelli each had one goal and one assist.

Also scoring one goal apiece were Blake Lori, Merrick Widdoes, Danny LaFontaine, Brady Ludewig and Danny Saxon.

Joe Graf, Will Orazen and Kevin Callahan each had an assist.

Explorer goalie Stroud Corr made 13 saves between the pipes.

Hudson had a 41-29 advantage in shots and a 38-26 edge in ground balls. The Explorers won 10-of-24 face-offs and committed just nine turnovers. The Bees (1-1) finished with 18 turnovers.

Hudson's junior varsity squad improved to 2-0 with an 11-6 win.

The varsity team was scheduled to host Mason March 25. Results were not available at press time.

The Explorers are set to visit Pine-Richland March 27 in Gibsonia, Pa. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
