The Western Reserve Academy boys basketball team improved to 13-8 on the season after posting a thrilling 60-59 victory over Warren John F. Kennedy Catholic Feb. 14 on the road.
The Pioneers trailed by 11 points at one point. With .6 showing on the clock and Reserve trailing 59-58, Hudson resident Michael Pamer was fouled on a 3-point shot.
Pamer made the first two free throws and then missed the third attempt on purpose to let the clock run out.
Pamer finished with 21 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds and Cooper Parrott had 10 points for WRA.
Cam Withers finished with 9 points and 11 rebounds and Wajdi Ahemed had 9 points and 7 rebounds, including a couple of critical offensive rebounds down the stretch.
Sam Laughlin added 7 points and 4 assists and had a crucial steal and layup that started the Pioneers' comeback.
