Hudson resident Caroline Dickinson is heading to the Division I state tennis tournament.
Dickinson, a senior at Walsh Jesuit High School, and her partner Megan Hissong earned the sixth and final seed at a district tournament, which concluded Oct. 15 at Springside Racquet & Fitness Club in Akron.
Dickinson and Hissong lost the fifth-place match to teammates Paige Carmichael and Skye Harwood 6-1, 6-4.
Dickinson (26-5) and Hissong advanced to the state tournament after posting a 6-4, 6-0 victory against a team from Mayfield.
On Oct. 15, Dickinson and Hissong posted a 6-2, 6-1 win against Solon in their opening-round match. They lost their next match 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 to a team from Rocky River Magnificat in the second round. The Division I state tennis tournament is scheduled to take place Oct. 21 and 22 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason. Play is set to begin at 9 a.m.
