The host Hudson girls volleyball team fell to 8-12 overall and 5-8 in the Suburban League National Conference after losing to Wadsworth 25-19, 25-20, 25-22 Oct. 11 at Ray "Buck" Hyser Gymnasium.
"We can't get over the hump," Lady Explorers' first-year head coach Brad Disandis said. "We are a great team to 15 points."
Alena Madar led Hudson, which had a 12-5 lead in the second set, with 11 service points, including three aces, eight kills and two blocks.
Dani Turner finished with 10 service points, including one ace, eight kills and four digs and Madison Topczewski had 10 kills, three digs and one block for the Lady Explorers.
Lindsay Sadler contributed 26 assists, 18 service points and eight digs and Kendall Mackay had 28 digs and two kills for Hudson.
"Lindsay Sadler really stepped up at setter," Brad Disandis said.
Also faring well for the Lady Explorers were Nina Disandis (10 service points, including one ace) and Amelia Hoffmeier (20 digs).
Hudson was scheduled to conclude its regular season with a home date against National Conference rival Brecksville-Broadview Heights Oct. 13. Results were not available at press time.
The fourth-seeded Lady Explorers are scheduled to play Akron East in the opening round of the Stow-Munroe Falls Division I sectional-district tournament Oct. 18 at Stow's James G. Tyree Gymnasium. Play is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
