Hudson boys soccer team earns draw against Brecksville

The Hudson boys soccer team earned a 2-2 draw against Brecksville-Broadview Heights in its Suburban League National Conference finale Oct. 11 on the road.

The Explorers (10-2-2, 6-0-1), who clinched the National Conference title last week, were up 1-0 at halftime. Sam Durkin and Nicci Polifrone scored for Hudson. Wilson Sattele and Alex Vuksta were credited with the assists.

Sammy Kraguljac and Tim Priest scored for the Bees (9-3-3).

Explorers' goalkeeper Connor Gynn finished with three saves. Brecksville goalie Jake Shaheen made three stops. Both teams had five shots on goal and Hudson had a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The Explorers were scheduled to host Woodridge Oct. 13 at Hudson Memorial Stadium before heading to Copley for a Suburban League crossover showdown in their regular-season finale Oct. 15. Results of those games were not available at press time. Top-seeded Hudson is set to entertain the Nordonia-Cuyahoga Falls' winner in a Kent Division I sectional title game Oct. 22. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
