The Hudson girls volleyball team finished 1-2 at the Perry Invitational Tournament Oct. 8.
The Lady Explorers' lone win was against Parma Normandy (25-15, 25-14). Alena Madar led Hudson with 13 service points, including two aces, eight kills, seven digs and two blocks against Normandy.
Dani Turner finished with seven kills, three digs and one ace and Nina Disandis had 14 service points, including one ace, and three digs for the Lady Explorers.
Also contributing for Hudson (8-11) were Regina Alvarez (six kills and two blocks), Kendall Mackay (20 digs and seven service points), Lindsay Sadler (22 assists and eight digs) and Maddie Gaeta (eight digs and six service points).
Sadler took the place of setter Lorenza Chiarappa, who injured her ankle during the Lady Explorers' 30-28, 25-15 loss to Perry.
Turner and Madison Topczewski each had seven kills against Perry. Cami Madar had three kills and two blocks and Alena Madar finished with two kills and two blocks.
Sadler contributed 14 assists and three digs and Mackay had 15 digs.
Hudson also lost to Akron Archbishop Hoban 25-21, 25-19.
Turner led the way with six kills, six service points and five digs and Alena Madar had five kills and three blocks.
Gaeta and Disandis were the Lady Explorers' most effective servers. Gaeta had nine service points, including one ace, and nine digs and Disandis finished with nine digs and seven service points, including one ace.
Also faring well for Hudson were Cami Madar (three kills and three blocks), Sadler (16 assists, four digs and two kills), Mackay (22 digs) and Amelia Hoffmeier (eight digs).
The Lady Explorers were scheduled to host Suburban League National Conference rival Wadsworth Oct. 11 at Ray "Buck" Hyser Gymnasium. Results were not available at press time.
Hudson is set to conclude its regular season with a home date against National Conference foe Brecksville-Broadview Heights Oct. 13 at 6:30 p.m.
The Lady Explorers received the fourth seed at the Stow-Munroe Falls Division I sectional-district tournament.
Stow earned the top seed and Walsh Jesuit and Copley got the second and third seeds, respectively.
The Lady Explorers are scheduled to play Akron East in a sectional semifinal contest Oct. 18 at James G. Tyree Gymnasium. Play is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
