The Western Reserve Academy girls cross country team placed 10th with 189 points in the 12-team Blue Division at the Paul Primeau Cross Country Invitational.
The invitational took place Sept. 30 at Gilmour Academy in Gates Mills.
Parma Padua Franciscan easily won the competition with 40 points and Notre Dame Cathedral Latin (Chardon) and Hathaway Brown (Shaker Heights) finished second and third with 91 and 118 points, respectively.
Beachwood's Leah Roter placed first out of 95 runners with a time of 18 minutes, 30.2 seconds.
Clara Fu led the Pioneers with a 34th-place time of 23:04.
Rounding out the top five for Reserve were Elizabeth Downing (38th, 23:12.6), Libby Russ (50th, 23:54), Audrey Hu (72nd, 25:32.5) and Ashley Lyu (74th, 25:42.6).
Reserve is scheduled to compete at the Medina Invitational Oct. 8 at Ella Canavan Elementary School. Racing is set to begin at 10:40 a.m.
