It was fun while it lasted.
The Western Reserve Academy football team is no longer undefeated.
That became the case when the host Pioneers lost to the Columbus Crusaders 20-6 Oct. 1.
Reserve had zero turnovers in its first five games. WRA (5-1) lost the ball four times against the Crusaders.
The Crusaders also got a touchdown on a blocked punt.
"Our defense played very well and kept us in it the entire game, but turnovers and poor special-teams play did us in," Pioneers head coach Jeff Hildebrand said.
Senior Dakota Gibbons led Reserve's defense with 13 tackles, including two tackles for a loss. Sophomore Evan Bongers added an interception for WRA.
The Pioneers are scheduled to visit Linsly Oct. 8 in Wheeling, W.Va. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
