Western Reserve Academy field hockey squad goes 1-1 in Ottawa Hills

The Western Reserve Academy field hockey team finished 1-1 at the Ottawa Hills Tournament, which concluded Oct. 1 in Toledo.

The Pioneers ended the tournament with a 2-1 win over Maumee Valley Country Day (Toledo) Oct. 1.

The two teams played to a 1-1 draw after regulation and the overtime period.

But Reserve was awarded the victory since it had more penalty corners.

WRA (7-6) also lost to Ottawa Hills 2-0 Sept. 30.

The Pioneers are scheduled to visit Laurel (Shaker Heights) Oct. 5 at the Laurel School Butler Campus in Russell.

Play is set to begin at 4:30 p.m.

Reserve is scheduled to host Shady Side (Pa.) Academy Oct. 8 at 1 p.m.
