Western Reserve Academy field hockey shuts out Kent

The host Western Reserve Academy field hockey team earned its third consecutive victory Sept. 28.

The Pioneers improved to 6-5 overall and 4-5 in the Northeast Ohio Field Hockey League after posting a 2-0 victory over Kent Roosevelt on the road.

Julia Gasbarre and Tia Forsyth scored for Reserve.

WRA scored a 1-0 win over Hawken (Gates Mills) Sept. 26. Avery Brewer scored the lone goal.

In the junior varsity contest, Julia Clark scored twice and Carlin Szilagy scored once during the Pioneers' 3-1 win.

Reserve was scheduled to play in the Ottawa Hills Tournament Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 in Toledo. Results were not available at press time. WRA is set to visit Laurel Oct. 5 at the Laurel School Butler Campus in Russell.

Play is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
