The Hudson cross country teams competed at the Strongsville Fleet Feet Invitational Sept. 24.
The Explorer boys won the 20-team meet on a sixth-man tiebreaker.
Both Hudson and Louisville scored 76 points. Medina took third with 87 points.
Eric Halford finished 34th in 16:53.3 to give Hudson the win. Louisville's sixth man placed 36th.
Brunswick's Andre Bollam-Godbott placed first out of 165 runners with a time of 15 minutes, 16.08 seconds.
Evan Manley led the Explorers with a ninth-place time of 16:02.52.
Teammate Adam Beucler was next for Hudson in 11th (16:06.43) and Jack Good placed 13th (16:21.62). The Explorers' fourth and fifth runners were Jacob Russo (21st, 16:33.02) and Connor Sinko (22nd, 16:39.22).
The Lady Explorers placed fourth with 149 points out of 24 teams.
Olentangy Liberty won with 121 points and Medina (128) and Twinsburg (131) finished second and third, respectively. Chagrin Falls' Annie Zimmer placed first out of 201 runners with a clocking of 18:07.63.
Elizabeth Hinkle was Hudson's top runner. She finished 12th in 18:54.09.
Kalli Barrett was next for the Lady Explorers in 21st (19:18.06).
Rounding out the top five for Hudson were Cameron Bujaucius (33rd, 19:50.12), Hannah Teed (38th, 20:02.58) and Ashley Gorze (45th, 20:07.93).
Both teams are scheduled to run at the Woodridge Cuyahoga Valley National Park Invitational Oct. 1 at Kendall Hills in Peninsula.
The girls race is set to begin at 11 a.m. and the boys race is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
