Hudson field hockey team rolls past Western Reserve Academy

It was a matchup of two rivals that are merely a stone's throw away from each other.

In this case, however; one of those teams is on a much higher level than the other.

The Hudson field hockey team earned a convincing 7-0 victory over backyard and Northeast Ohio Field Hockey League rival Western Reserve Academy Sept. 21 at WRA Stadium.

After a bit of a slow start, the Lady Explorers scored four goals in the final 15 minutes, 37 seconds of the first half.

Sarah Keller led Hudson (7-2, 6-0) with two goals and two assists and teammate McKenna Thomas had a goal and an assist.

Anna Tomasulo, Katie Moloney, Hannah Yard and Eliza Green also scored for the Lady Explorers.

Maddie Valko and Lilly Knox each added an assist.

Hudson goalies Kelsey Lowman and Katherine Woodford combined to make four saves. Lowman, who played the first half, stopped three shots.

Goalkeeper Dresden Moll made 10 saves for the Pioneers (3-5, 2-5).

The Lady Explorers had an 11-4 advantage in shots on goal and a 10-1 edge in penalty corners.
