Pioneer girls get

past CVCA

The host Western Reserve Academy girls tennis team improved to 4-4 on the season after posting a 3-2 victory over Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy.

The match took place Sept. 14.

Alicia Ma (6-2, 6-0) and Lydia Peercy (6-0, 6-0) cruised to easy wins at second and third singles, respectively.

The Pioneers' first doubles team of Alexis Shoemaker and Amy Zhou posted a 6-3, 6-4 victory.

Reserve was scheduled to visit Orange Sept. 15 in Pepper Pike. Results were not available at press time.

WRA is set to entertain Westlake Sept. 20 before heading to Barrington Country Club to play Aurora Sept. 21.

Both matches are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
