Going into week four, the Western Reserve Academy football team had been averaging close to 52 points per game.
The Pioneers exceeded that average Sept. 16.
Reserve improved to 4-0 after posting a 53-7 victory over St. Wendelin at Fostoria Memorial Stadium.
WRA, which led 53-0 at halftime, reached the end zone in all eight of its first-half possessions. The Pioneers rushed for 261 yards.
Dakota Gibbons had touchdown rushes of 37 and 28 yards, respectively.
Quarterback Owen Levine also scored twice. He had TD carries of 3 and 15, respectively. Levine, who did not play in the second half, also completed 9-of-11 passes for 194 yards and three scores.
Other players who scored rushing TDs for Reserve were Jayden Demmy (32 yards) and Evan Bongers (27 yards).
Michael Malen caught five passes for 148 yards and two TDs. He had TD receptions of 32 and 22 yards, respectively.
