The host Hudson volleyball team improved to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in the Suburban League National Conference after posting a convincing 25-20, 25-18, 25-21 victory over Twinsburg Sept. 13 at Ray "Buck" Hyser Gymnasium.
Alena Madar led the Lady Explorers with 19 service points, including six aces, nine kills, six digs and two blocks and teammate Dani Turner had 12 service points, eight kills and two blocks.
Lorenza Chiarappa had a strong all-around match for Hudson with 26 assists, 11 digs and six kills and Regina Alvarez contributed six kills and two blocks for the Lady Explorers.
Also faring well in the front row for Hudson was Madison Topczewski (five kills and three digs).
Other contributors for the Lady Explorers were Kendall Mackay (26 digs), Nina Disandis (14 service points, including an ace, and eight digs), Maddie Gaeta (12 digs) and Amelia Hoffmeier (eight digs).
Hudson was scheduled to entertain Avon Sept. 17. Results were not available at press time.
The Lady Explorers are scheduled to visit Suburban League National Conference rival Brecksville-Broadview Heights Sept. 20 before returning home to play National Conference foe Nordonia Sept. 22. Both matches are set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
