The Hudson girls golf team took another step toward capturing the Suburban League National Conference title.
That became a reality after the Lady Explorers cruised past Twinsburg 196-241 Sept. 14 at Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club.
Although the win was convincing, Hudson didn't find its rhythm until later in the match.
"Everyone had a rough start," Lady Explorers head coach Jackie Weisenberger said. "But it was good to get it out of our system."
Jenn David led Hudson (5-1, 5-0) with a score of 43 to earn medalist honors. Meaghan Grant and Alyssa Jordan added scores of 47 and 48, respectively, and Hailey Payne rounded out the team scoring with a 58.
"Senior Alyssa Jordan stepped up on senior night and helped drive the team to a win," Weisenberger said. "We will be back to working on the fundamentals."
The Lady Explorers were scheduled to visit National Conference rivals Wadsworth Sept. 19 at Rawiga Country Club and Brecksville-Broadview Heights Sept. 21 at Seneca Golf Course. Both matches are set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
