Hudson football team dominates conference rival Nordonia

The Hudson football team is off to a smashing start in Suburban League National Conference play.

The Explorers earned a convincing 34-7 victory over Nordonia Sept. 16 at Boliantz Stadium in Macedonia.

With the win, Hudson improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the National Conference.

The Explorers, who beat the Knights twice last season, scored 34 unanswered points.

Dawson Wervey had a 46-yard touchdown run and Kevin Callahan and Jackson Parker had rushing scores of 21 and 6 yards, respectively.

Colt Pallay added a 32-yard TD pass to Greg Mailey and Alex Beck had an interception return for a score.

Grant Gonya converted 4-of-5 point after tries for Hudson.

The Explorers outgained Nordonia 353-259, including 248-133 on the ground.

Wervey led Hudson's ground game with 116 yards on 11 carries. Callahan added 59 yards in 10 attempts.
