The Hudson boys cross country team won the 18-team Wooster Invitational Sept. 10 with 21 points.
Wooster finished in second place with 58 points, while Akron Firestone was a distant third with 137 points.
The Explorers squeezed five runners into the top 10.
Senior Blake Roberts finished first overall with a time of 16 minutes, 41 seconds, while sophomore Adam Beucler placed second (16:45), and sophomore Jacob Russo captured third (17:01). A total of 122 runners competed.
Rounding out the top five for Hudson were sophomore Evan Manley (fifth in 17:13) and junior Eric Halford (10th in 17:30).
The Explorers also won the open race, again scoring 21 points en route to victory. Wooster finished in second place with 36 points and Lodi Cloverleaf placed third with 85 points.
Freshman Michael Von Ville finished in first place with a time of 17:51, while sophomore Brian Kinnear was second with an effort of 18:62.
Sophomore Blake Hartline crossed the finish line in third place (8:26). The rest of Hudson's top five included freshman Luke Good (sixth in 18:40) and freshman Andrew Goldslager (ninth in 18:49).
