Hudson volleyball team wins two matches at home quad

The Hudson girls volleyball team finished 2-1 at the Hudson Quad Sept. 10 at Ray "Buck" Hyser Gymnasium.

The Lady Explorers earned a 25-15, 25-19 victory over Canton McKinley.

Dani Turner had nine kills and Alena Madar, Madison Topczewski and Regina Alvarez each had five kills for Hudson. Alvarez also had three blocks.

Lorenza Chiarappa finished with 17 assists and Kendall Mackay had 15 digs for the Lady Explorers.

Also contributing for Hudson (3-4) were Maddie Gaeta (nine service points, including two aces, and six digs) and Nina Disandis (seven service points, including one ace).

The Lady Explorers also defeated Claymont 25-14, 25-19.

Madar led the way with 14 service points, including three aces, six kills and three blocks and Turner had seven service points and six kills.

Alvarez chipped in with five kills and four blocks and Topczewski had three kills and one block.

Also faring well for Hudson were Chiarappa (18 assists), Mackay (25 digs), Gaeta (14 digs and eight service points) and Disandis (10 digs and seven service points).

The Lady Explorers' lone loss was to Berea-Midpark 25-17, 22-25, 11-25.

Madar had nine kills, eight service points, including one ace, and five blocks and Turner finished with 10 kills and two digs. Alvarez contributed eight kills and two blocks.

Leading Hudson's back row were Disandis (12 digs and 12 service points, including three aces), Gaeta (17 service points, including three aces, and four digs) and Mackay (10 digs and eight service points). Chiarappa finished with 20 assists.
