Hudson girls tennis defeats conference rival North Royalton

The host Hudson girls tennis team fell to 5-2 on the season after losing to Orange (Pepper Pike) 3-2 Aug. 30.

Molly Sandberg continued her dominance at first singles. She won the first set 6-0 and was up 2-1 in the second set.

Sandberg was awarded the match when her opponent could not continue.

The Lady Explorers' second doubles team of Isabelle Mawby and Istabraq Dalieh posted a 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 victory.

Host Hudson improved to 2-0 in the Suburban League National Conference after posting a 4-1 victory over North Royalton Aug. 29.

Sandberg (6-0, 6-0) and Grace Graham completely dominated at first and second singles, respectively.

Mawby was almost as dominant with a 6-3, 6-0 win at third singles.

The Lady Explorers' first doubles' team of Jenny Gan and Susie Fan also triumphed with a 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 victory.

Hudson was scheduled to visit Hathaway Brown in a Northeast Ohio Tennis Association match Sept. 1 in Shaker Heights. Results were not available at press time.

The Lady Explorers are set to entertain Laurel (Shaker Heights) in an NEOTA match Sept. 6 at 4 p.m.

Hudson is scheduled to host National Conference foe Stow-Munroe Falls Sept. 7 at 4 p.m.

The Lady Explorers are set to entertain Dublin Jerome Sept. 10 at 11 a.m.
