Hudson girls cross country team dominates Super Duals

The Hudson girls cross country team finished first in the National Conference of the Suburban League Super Duals at Silver Creek Metro Park Sept. 3 in Norton.

The Lady Explorers posted a 7-0 record in the eight-team National Conference with wins over Brecksville-Broadview Heights (19-44), North Royalton (19-44), Twinsburg (27-28), Stow-Munroe Falls (23-36), Cuyahoga Falls (18-45), Wadsworth (15-48) and Nordonia (20-35).

Twinsburg put together a 6-1 record to place second and Nordonia (5-2) captured third.

AnnaMarie DiGiacco of Highland finished first overall in the varsity race, producing a time of 18 minutes, 51 seconds. A total of 140 runners from both the National and American conferences participated.

Lady Explorers junior Elizabeth Hinkle placed fourth in 19:35, while junior Kalli Barrett finished 12th in 20:25.

Rounding out the top five for Hudson were juniors Ashley Gorze (17th in 20:33), Hannah Teed (21st in 20:39) and junior Cameron Bujaucius (25th in 20:44).
