Last year, the Hudson football team was stunned by Strongsville on its home turf in week two.
Not this time.
The Explorers improved to 2-0 on the season after earning a 35-20 victory over the Mustangs Sept. 2 on the road. Hudson had a 28-0 lead at halftime.
Explorers' quarterback Jackson Parker had touchdown rushes of 4 and 58, respectively, and also completed a 33-yard scoring pass to Sam Wright.
Hudson's other QB, Colt Pallay, completed a 26-yard TD pass to Wright and a 36-yard scoring pass to Greg Mailey. Kicker Grant Gonya was successful on all five of the Explorers' point after tries.
Strongsville, which got its first touchdown on a fumble return, scored 14 points in the final quarter, thanks to a couple of touchdown passes and a safety.
At that point, though, the outcome had been decided.
Hudson outgained the Mustangs 412-244. Parker ran for 95 yards in 11 attempts and completed 6-of-13 passes for 84 yards.
Pallay connected on 10-of-15 passes for 183 yards and an interception.
Mailey led the receiving corps with six catches for 108 yards and Wright had five receptions for 107 yards.
