Staff report

The Hudson field hockey team improved to 2-0 after earning a 6-0 victory over Cleveland Heights Aug. 26 on the road.

Six different players scored for the Lady Explorers. Scoring one goal apiece were Sarah Keller Eliza Green, Olivia Green, Carissa Arsham, Katie Peel and Eden Janesch.

Maddie Valco and Hannah Collins each had one assist.

Hudson finished with 14 penalty corners and 16 shots on goal.

"Overall, we worked on our style of play and keeping possession," Lady Explorers' first-year head coach Laurie Wilkins said. "It wasn't about who scored or how we scored. It was about the basics and staying at our speed of play.

"The girls are starting to take risks and that is all we can ask as coaches. Overall, we are very pleased with Hudson field hockey and excited for Katie Peel, Carissa Arsham and Sarah Keller to get their first varsity goals."

Hudson was scheduled to visit Hathaway Brown Aug. 28 in Shaker Heights. Results were not available at press time.

The Lady Explorers are set to host Rocky River Magnificat Sept. 2 at Scott Malson Field. Play is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
