Western Reserve Academy boys distance team places third

The Western Reserve Academy boys cross country team finished third with 105 points in the 19-team Gold Division of the 2014 Avon Lake Early Bird Meet Aug. 30 at Lorain County Community College in Elyria.

Independence won the competition with 66 points and Oberlin Firelands took second with 90 points.

Medina Buckeye's Colin Theis placed first out of 133 runners with a time of 17 minutes, 6.3 seconds.

Dany Mylott led the Pioneers with a seventh-place time of 18:00.5. Not far behind was teammate Max Borrmann (10th, 18:19.2).

Rounding out the top five for Reserve were Colin Horgan (13th, 18:33.1), Sammy Bluso (29th, 19:21) and Peter Thewissen (46th, 19:50.1).
