The Hudson girls golf team won its second tournament of the season.
The Lady Explorers placed first with a score of 351 at the 17-team Midwest Classic Aug. 23 at Skyland Pines Golf Course in Canton.
Hudson edged out Canton Central Catholic, which also shot a 351, by a fifth-score tiebreaker.
Dover captured third place with a 353.
Dover's Kaytlin Shut earned medalist honors with a 76.
Julia Goodson, Meredith Spitz and Victoria Bartos each shot an 86 to lead the Lady Explorers. Goodson finished eighth on a tiebreaker of scores on the hardest handicapped holes.
Moe Madar rounded out the team scoring with a 93.
"It was great to see the balanced scoring and it reemphasized the importance of every stroke by every player," Hudson head coach Doug Snelling said.
The Lady Explorers were scheduled to host Northeast Ohio Conference Valley Division rival North Royalton Aug. 25 at Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club. Results were not available at press time.
They are set to visit Valley Division foe Strongsville Aug. 27 at Valleaire Golf Course in Hinckley. Play is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.
Hudson is set to visit Medina Country Club for a Valley Division tri-match with Medina and Solon Aug. 28. Play is scheduled to begin at 3:45 p.m.
