The Hudson girls golf team won the six-team Northeast Ohio Conference Valley Division Preseason Tournament Aug. 8 at Windmill Lakes Golf Course in Ravenna.
The Lady Explorers finished with a score of 341. Medina took second with a 344 and Solon finished third (368).
Julia Goodson earned medalist honors with a career-best 73.
She beat Medina's Megan Pollock by six strokes to win.
Goodson's previous best 18-hole score was 76, which took place at Division I sectional play last year.
Mary Catherine Good was next with a career-best 88 and Meredith Spitz and Moe Madar each shot a 90.
"From now on, whenever a varsity player shoots a birdie, our intern, Natalie Goodson, and I do five push-ups," Hudson head coach Doug Snelling said. "We both did 30."
The Lady Explorers were scheduled to compete in the Magnificat Invitational Aug. 12 at Sweetbriar Golf Course in Avon Lake. Results were not available at press time.
Hudson is set to play at the Medina invitational Aug. 14 at Medina Country Club. Play is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
