Michael Hudock, a 20-year-old Hudson resident, recently completed the 140.6-mile Ironman triathlon.
He was one of the youngest athletes in the entire field of more than 2,800 participants.
The University of Dayton junior finished the ultra-endurance triathlon July 27 at Lake Placid, N.Y.
Battling heavy rains and lighting at times, Hudock completed the 140.6-mile competition in a time of 11 hours, 43 minutes and 26 seconds. He placed 12th in the 18-to-24 age group and 412th overall.
Ironman Lake Placid attracted athletes from around the world. Participants were required to swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and then run a 26.2-mile marathon.
Hudock had participated in four half-Ironman competitions and three marathons prior to completing this race.
