Lake Forest Country Club in Hudson hosted the annual LOPen Charity Event to benefit Akron Children's Hospital June 21.
The event featured both sports and music celebrities who came together because of their shared, heart-felt commitment to helping children in need.
After a day on the golf course with celebrities Ryan Cabrera, Hanford Dixon, John Hughes, Jim McMahon, Brett Saberhagen, Mark Rypien and others, members of Lake Forest had dinner that featured lobster prepared by Chef Lou of Hell's Kitchen.
Also featured were a live/silent auction featuring unique, items signed by sports stars and celebrities, followed by a concert featuring the "Next Big Star" national talent search winners 'Brother Trouble', Tone Loc and Loverboy.
The event has helped supply children with a school teacher for hospitalized patients, transportation assistance to families, funeral expenses for needy families, cancer research, the expansion of the bone marrow transplant program and the "LOpen" Teen Lounge located on the inpatient unit.
