The 36th annual Hudson Junior Invitational Golf Tournament is scheduled to take place June 10 to 12 at the Country Club of Hudson.
CCH members founded the tournament in 1978 and have hosted every year since. The Hudson Junior is the second oldest junior invitational in the country.
Last year's event attracted more than 800 applicants from all across the United States as well as numerous foreign countries with 144 golfers participating in the 2013 event.
Hudson Junior alumni include numerous PGA and LPGA players such as Ben Curtis, John Daly, Jim Furyk, Lee Janzen, Billy Andrade, Phil Mickelson, Mike Weir, Rickie Fowler, Michelle McGann, Beth Bauer and Grace Park.
"The Hudson Junior was one of the highlights of my junior career," Hudson Junior Hall of Famer and 1986 winner Phil Mickelson said. "It was exciting and rewarding. It gave me an introduction to many players I play with today."
The Hudson Junior has raised more than $750,000 and contributed to a wide variety of charities. This year, the Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Junior Achievement are among the recipients.
The cost for hosting an event comes through donations from corporate sponsors, player participation fees, individuals in the community and the members of The Country Club of Hudson.
The Country Club of Hudson, located at 2155 Middleton Road, welcomes spectators and the event is open to the public. Tee times begin at 6:30 a.m. and play concludes at approximately 5:30 p.m. all three days.
