The Hudson Rugby Club boys team earned a 34-17 victory over Pickerington May 17 in Columbus.
With the win, Hudson is scheduled to play two-time Division I state champion Lakewood St. Edward in the Division I state semifinals May 24 at Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati. Play is set to begin at 5:15 p.m.
Jared Ruffing again led Hudson in scoring with two tries. Backs Jason Eulberg, Noah Bentley and Roman Moreno scored one try apiece.
Hudson backs repeatedly slashed through Pinkerington's back line defense for long runs.
Forward Colin Blaha also powered over for a try. Eulberg added two conversions.
"Pinkerington had the largest forward pack we have played all year, " Hudson forwards coach Dan Perella said. "Our forwards tackled hard and low to keep Pinkerington contained."
Cleveland St. Ignatius is set to play Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller in the other semifinal match. The winners are scheduled to play for the state title May 31 at Lavelli Field.
