Several Hudson equestrian riders fare well

The Hudson Interscholastic Equestrian Team had its first postseason competition March 15 at Tailwind Equestrian Center in Fairview, Pa.

High school contributions in the team jumping classes came from Tara Berthold (third), Gwen Richner (fourth) and Emily Shawd (fifth).

For team flat, the following riders placed: Giuliana LaMarca (first), Victoria Lawler (second), Chloe Weber (fourth) and Katie Marquez (fourth).

The following riders placed for their individual-over-fences classes: Eliana Schimer (second), Lawler (fourth), Berthold (fourth), Marianna George (fifth), Richner (sixth) and Casey Watson (seventh).

For individual flat classes, the following riders earned ribbons: Lily Shaughnessy (first), Lawler (third), LaMarca (fourth) and George (fifth).

Schimer and Shaughnessy qualified for the 2014 Zone 5 Finals in Columbus.

The Hudson Interscholastic Equestrian Team is coached by professionals Kim Cosma Segedy and Lee Cosma at Hudson Equestrian Center and Bochum Farm on Ravenna Street.

HEC and Bochum Farm offer lessons for all ages and skill levels.
