The Hudson boys tennis team won nine of 11 matches at Division I sectional play May 13 at Medina High School.
Nicci Polifrone advanced to the quarterfinals in singles' play with three victories.
He earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Wooster's Austin Miko in the first round and a 6-1, 6-1 win over Medina Highland's Ben Kelly in the second round.
Nicci Polifrone punched his ticket to the quarterfinals with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Stow-Munroe Falls' Spencer Crawley.
Also reaching the quarterfinals were the doubles teams of Jack Graham and Dominic Polifrone and Joe Murphy and Chris Palmann.
Both of those teams won two matches.
Graham and Dominic Polifrone earned a first-round bye. They posted a 6-0, 6-4 victory over a team from Highland and a 6-0, 6-1 win over a team from Norton.
Murphy and Palmann also earned a first-round bye and then posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory over a team from Stow. They advanced to the quarterfinals with a 6-0, 6-3 win over a team from Brunswick.
The quarterfinals were scheduled to take place May 16 in Medina. Results were not available at press time.
Ari Basu and Ryan Sosinsky each finished 1-1 and did not advance.
Basu earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Tallmadge's Brandon Conley and lost a 6-4, 6-3 decision to Medina's Connor Varney in the second round.
Ryan Sosinsky scored a 6-1, 6-4 win over Medina's Jerek Pazgan-Lorenzo and lost a 6-0, 6-0 decision to third-seeded Austin Hanna of Cloverleaf.
The top four players and top four doubles teams advance to district play, which is scheduled for May 22 at Oberlin College. Play is set to begin at 9 a.m.
