Hudson baseball team advances to Division I district play

The second-seeded Hudson baseball team earned a 6-1 victory over Brunswick in a Division I sectional title game at The Ballpark at Hudson.

With the win, the Explorers earned a date with Cuyahoga Falls, a 7-2 winner over Stow-Munroe Falls, in a district semifinal contest May 19 at The Ballpark in Hudson. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.

Right-hander Kevin Zullo (5-1) got the win on the mound. He pitched six innings. Right-hander Ian Swan pitched the seventh.

Hudson scored once in the first inning, four times in the second inning and once in the third.

Brunswick scored its only run in the fifth.

The Explorers had seven runs and zero errors. Brunswick had seven hits and three errors.

Zullo had two singles and a run batted in and Braden Wright scored two runs for Hudson.

Jared Hoffman had three stolen bases and a run scored and Dan Joseph drove in a run.
