The Hudson boys tennis team finished in a tie for second place with 34 points at the five-team Northeast Ohio Conference Valley Division Tournament.
Shaker Heights also scored 34 points. Solon won the competition with 57 points.
The Explorers had one player and one doubles team finish second.
Jack Graham placed second at second singles after earning a 6-0, 6-1 win in the semifinals. He lost a 6-1, 6-1 decision in the championship match.
Hudson's second doubles team of Nicci Polifrone and Joe Murphy lost a 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 decision in the title match.
Nicci Polifrone and Murphy reached the final with a 7-6, 6-3 victory.
Dominic Polifrone placed third at first singles after earning a 6-1, 6-2 win in the consolation final.
The Explorers' first doubles team of Ari Basu and Chris Palmann placed fourth.
Hudson fell to 9-8 overall and 3-1 in the Valley Division after losing a 5-0 decision to Solon May 8 on the road.
The Explorers were scheduled to compete in Division I sectional play May 13 at Medina High School. Results were not available at press time.
Dominic Polifrone and Graham were expected to play doubles as were Murphy and Palmann.
Ari Basu, Nicci Polifrone and Ryan Sosinski were expected to play singles.
If any of the players advance, the sectional final is set to take place May 16 at 2 p.m.
Hudson is scheduled to visit NOC rival Twinsburg May 14.
The match is set to begin at 4 p.m.
