The Hudson girls lacrosse team is offering its second annual pink-out day during its contest with Rocky River, which is scheduled for April 26 at at Hudson Memorial Stadium.
The varsity contest is set to begin at 1 p.m. and junior varsity is scheduled to follow at 2:30 p.m.
Starting at 12:30pm, there will be a variety of fun family activities, which include a kids pink hair station, a bake sale, raffling of gift baskets and sponsoring of a player or coach for the game.
There also will be a wall of honor and remembrance for those affected by cancer and a special moment of silence for survivors in attendance and for those who passed away from the disease.
The "laCROSSe OUT CANCER" event will benefit the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at The Ohio State University in Columbus.
The Spielman Fund is devoted to advancing research in breast cancer and 100 percent of every gift to the fund goes directly to research at Ohio State's Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.
The Ohio Schoolgirls Lacrosse Association's commissioner, Paul Balcerzak, has set aside the week beginning May 4 through Mother's Day as "laCROSSe OUT CANCER" week in Ohio among all lacrosse teams.
The OSLA has partnered with Heads Up Bands (headsupbands.com), which created a custom headband and will donate 100 percent of the purchase price of these custom headbands back to the Spielman Fund. To order, visit www.headsupbands.com and search for Spielman.
