Western Reserve Academy baseball squad sweeps Northwestern

The host Western Reserve Academy baseball team earned 12-1 and 11-7 victories over West Salem Northwestern April 19.

The 12-1 win was called after six innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.

Hudson resident Evan Morgan (2-0) scattered seven hits in six innings of work to get the win.

Hudson resident Jack McKenzie led the Pioneers' offense with three hits, three runs scored and two stolen bases. Max Burkhart added two singles and three runs scored.

In the second game, Hudson resident Robbie Murray finished with three hits, three RBIs, two runs scored and two stolen bases for Reserve (5-2).

Sam Ennis of Hudson finished with two hits and three runs batted in for WRA.

Patrick Mylott (1-0) got the win on the mound.
